ASEAN is an economic bloc created in Southeast Asia by its 10 Member States. It is home to some of the countries that most analysts agree will be amongst the giant economies of the future, including Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia. The region hosts a huge number of Asia Pacific Headquarters for multinational companies. Any company that is looking at its growth strategy for the Asia Pacific is compelled to consider the opportunities offered by a combined population in excess of 630 million people. As the ASEAN bloc continues to grow and move towards greater economic integration, Ipsos Business Consulting has written a series of publications that are focused on Go to Market strategy in Southeast Asia.
Ipsos Business Consulting is proud to once again support the Investing in ASEAN guide produced by Allurentis in conjunction with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The guide contains some informative articles about industry challenges and developments in ASEAN. You can download the 2019 | 2020 guide by clicking the link below.
Plastic Pollution and Sustainable Packaging – An ASEAN Perspective
In 2019, we have been speaking to ASEAN businesses about the crisis of plastic pollution in Southeast Asia, what consumers think about the issue and how government, brand owners and consumers should respond to the issue. What we have found is that this is not only an issue that impacts business strategy but it generates a lot of internal debate with their employees, who themselves are passionate about plastic waste management and its impact on the environment and our food safety. In the 2019 | 2020 Investing in ASEAN guide, our Country Manager for Thailand and Myanmar writes about the issue and the Ipsos 3 point plan for tackling plastic pollution in ASEAN.
